Enjoying the beach
July 2010 - One of the hardest things about being landlocked is missing the beach. Nebraska is right among the Great Plains, so we have oceans of corn. Seafood is not a favorite among the locals, but they do like beef. Every time we go home, we look forward to enjoying the sun and waves at the beach and eating fresh seafood!
Leaving the Midwest has been a pain every time we've flown home. It doesn't seem to matter what the season is, whether its winter or summer. We always end up having a delayed or canceled flight! Maybe next year driving home might be something we'll consider. So, we make it onto a flight after two days and arrive in the evening. We had a 6 hour layover in New Jersey, and although we were exhausted our families were at the end of the security gates waiting for us!
The following morning, the first thing we did was head to the beach!
We spent the entire afternoon with my two sisters and nieces at Little Island Park at Sandbridge.
