Night sky in San Angelo, TX
August 12, 2013 - To conclude our weekend, we went to check out the Perseid Meteor Shower in the sky! The peak of meteor showers (shooting stars) was this weekend, so we wanted to watch the night sky to catch some. I had never seen one before, although Chris always seems to catch them wherever we may be. We drove around our neighborhood at first, but the street lights and lights from the nearby businesses made it a little difficult to see the sky clearly. So, we drove to the north end of town into a neighborhood in which many of Chris' coworkers reside and watched the sky from the nearby field. On our way, Kristian fell asleep and Kailani stayed awake since she was just as excited to watch the sky, too.
Chris tried to catch the shooting stars, but it's hard to predict where they'll come from.
He did get some pretty neat pictures of the night sky.
