Kai's Colored Hair, Trunk-or-Treating, Old Market

Blue, Purple, Sparkly Hair

Here's Kailani at the end of her school carnival. Every year LeMay Elementary holds a school carnival sponsored by the PTA. There's food, a bouncy castle, and booths set up for carnival games and the students can play for prizes! Since I'm the Room Parent for Kailani's classroom, this is one of the events I had to help coordinate. Our booth was the milk bottle toss and Kailani helped me run it. We were actually stuck there for an hour because I had one parent whose kids ended up sick and another that flaked out on me last minute! Then, I saw her walking around the gym, but she never came by to relieve me!!! At least the new student in Kailani's classroom had nice parents that volunteered to cover the rest of the night! Anyway, Kailani had fun and the last thing she did was get her hair sprayed blue and purple with sparkles!

Trunk-or-Treating at the Base Chapel

After Saturday afternoon mass, the Base Chapel had their sixth annual trunk-or-treating event. The kids get to play games, win prizes, and then the parents pass out candy out of their car trunks to the children. This year, the event was held indoors since it was too chilly outside for the children. Kai was reluctant at first and didn't want to come dressed in her pirate costume, but after we talked with the Filipino priest and he reassured her and told her that they'd wait for her, we went home and got her ready for the party. After we arrived, she began to open up a little and take part in some of the festivities!

Hot dogs, chips, and a drink were also provided and as Chris and Kristian were getting some food for us, Kristian got entered into their contest for best costume for the little ones by accident! We also took a family picture by a haystack!

Afterwards, Kailani received enough candy to halfway fill-up her trick-or-treat bag!

Old Market

The day after trunk-or-treating, we took the kids to the Old Market in Downtown Omaha. The weather still wasn't as nice, so we didn't really stop to take many pictures at all! It was very windy, but at least we saw some cool costumes like the Incredibles family that we should have captured on film! Next time!
