We divided up the 14 hour drive into two days. We stopped at Oklahoma City again as our halfway point and the rain kept us from visiting the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum the next day.
When we finally arrived in our new home, we had Kristian's birthday to wait for our truck filled with household goods to arrive. That evening we went to H.E.B. to pick a birthday cake for Kristian. He wanted a rectangular carrot cake.
We weren't able to decorate, but for Kristian, the best part was to sing Happy Birthday and blow candles!
Lately, Kailani's been making funny faces for her pictures.
Maybe it's a phase..
A few days later, San Angelo received a dusting of snow. Schools and businesses shut down. We realized this would be the extent of snow we will be receiving as we live here in West Texas. We're grateful not to have the need to shovel several feet of snow every winter like in the Midwest!
The snow melted away by Valentine's Day.
After more than a week, it was my turn for a birthday. We went to Red Lobster, then the park by our house afterwards.
