Celebrating Chris' 34th Birthday watching NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway

November 4, 2012 - As part of Daddy's early birthday celebration, we watched NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, Texas (about an hour away from Dallas). The days leading up to the weekend, we celebrated with dinner at Armenta's, an authentic Mexican restaurant, and a movie with the kids (Wreck it Ralph was good!). We were originally going to spend the entire weekend there, but with rain in the forecast, we decided to make it a day trip.  Chris said that if it were to rain, they'd cancel the race. It took a little over 4 hours to get there and there was nothing but sunshine.

I was actually apprehensive about going because I wasn't sure how the crowd around us would react. I didn't want our kids to be around drunk NASCAR fanatics. Luckily, there were families around us and fans that were there just to have a good time.
