I-90 West towards South Dakota
May 27, 2011 - For Memorial Day weekend, we decided to take a road trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and many other sites. The drive to Hill City, South Dakota was long, but we did it! The kids had their occasional meltdowns, so frequent breaks to rest areas, restrooms, and gas stations were a necessity. It took us nearly 14 hours to finally arrive at our hotel, but it was worth it.
We had breakfast at McDonald's in Sioux Falls and on our way back to our SUV, Chris spotted a Maserati GranTurismo:
Along the way were many billboards, but the most popular ones were advertisements for Wall Drug Store.
As we got closer to the hillsides in the western part of South Dakota, we traveled through rain on and off throughout the day.
