The Badlands
For most of the trip, Kailani had complained about not being able to take pictures of anything, so our scenic route through the Badlands made her happy. The rain held off while we were there, too!
Kristian was a little afraid to walk around because we mentioned he could fall off a cliff or run into rattlesnakes!
I'm reading the Badlands brochure.

Halfway through the Badlands, we had a late lunch at the Cedar Pass Lodge Restaurant. I ordered the Indian taco (buffalo meat on Indian fried flatbread with vegetables), Chris had a buffalo burger, and the kids had hotdogs with fries.
Shortly after going through the Badlands, we stopped at one of America's most famous roadside attractions, Wall Drug Store. We didn't want to spend too much time there since we still had to reach Hill City, but we did buy souvenirs, toys for the kids, snacks, as well as a jackalope for Chris. We spotted one at a gas station in Plankinton and he had wanted one ever since.
