Father's Day Weekend

June 20-21, 2011 - On Saturday, after we had a big breakfast we took some time to check out some car dealerships and a possible new car for me. We later took the kids to Schwer Park and had just enough time to quickly buy some towels from Target and let the kids play right before the park closed. 

For Father's Day, we relaxed before heading out to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. We were able to see the Missouri River and some of the damage it's caused since the recent flooding. During our roadtrip to South Dakota, we did notice the high waters from the Missouri River reaching the highway in certain areas. A week later, some of the highway we traveled through (I-29 North) had been closed due to the flood waters.

Afterwards, we went to Schwer Park (this time planned) with some of our friends and then had a light dinner before having Daddy's favorite, german chocolate cake.

A couple days later, we still had about half of the triple-layered cake left!
