December 7-9, 2012. Over the weekend, Chris volunteered for Christmas at Ft. Concho. This local landmark comes to life every year, as it was in the 1800s, with people dressed in period costumes, buildings and vendors provide ample shopping, as well as displays, and entertainment. Originally, Chris was set to do an earlier time slot, but someone had changed it to where he had the closing shift. I wasn't a fan of the time slot because it was during supper and we (the kids and I) were included to volunteer. I hope the person that switched Chris' time (without his permission) had a really good reason, especially since SSGT Vera and Family were coming to cover the rest of the evening.
Friday evening, since we were working a ticket booth, we only had enough time to walk to the food vendors, walk back to our designated booth, and eat just minutes prior to taking over for the previous shift. Before the shift ended, Chris and Kristian went out to grab us a big bag of kettle corn. We even shared it with the other volunteers around us.

Since we worked at the Fort on Friday evening, we came back on Sunday to get more of a tour of the event.

The winds were very blustery. This man kept waving to Kristian, but he must have missed him due to the dust and dirt getting into his eyes. He offered Kai and Kristian some Smarties.
